Lewes Scenic and Historic Byway Committee Open House Tuesday January 13th at the Lewes Library

Scenic Byways of Lewes

The Lewes Ad-Hoc Scenic and Historic Byway Committee is hosting an Open House on Tuesday January 13, 2009 (from 5 to 7 PM) at the Lewes Public Library for the purpose of providing the greater Lewes community with facts and information regarding an ongoing (and praiseworthy) effort to nominate several roadways running up to and through the Town of Lewes, Delaware as a State Scenic and Historic Byway. Committee members will be on hand to outline key details in the Byway Nomination Application which will be submitted to the Delaware Department of Transportation. Items to be covered include:

• The Mission Statement for the Lewes Scenic and Historic Byway
• The Goals and Objectives
• An identification of the key scenic and historic resources withth the Byway Corridor that makes these roadways worthy of State Designation
• An explanation of the Nomination Application process along with the benefits brought by such designation.

The  Open House will not be a formal meeting and participants are welcome to ask questions and offer comments throughout the evening.
