Why Retire in Maryland? Retire to Delaware!

April 6, 2009

I’m posting a press release below that I just sent out to the local papers about my upcoming “Retire to Delaware” workshops. It’s pretty self-explanatory. I’m trying to “think out of the box” where real estate marketing is concerned. If we get a positive response, we’ll probably take our “Retire to Delaware” show on the road to other major cities in the region….and who knows -perhaps we will even be “Coming Soon to a Town Near You.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. April 16, 2009. In a creative bid to attract buyers to Sussex County, Delaware, Lee Ann Wilkinson of Prudential Gallo REALTORS® will host a series of workshops in the Washington Metropolitan Area entitled, “Retire to Sussex County”.

“Many people do not realize that the tax structure in Maryland is far more expensive than in Sussex County, Delaware, so I decided to host a few seminars (or “workshops” as we’re calling them) in order to promote the many advantages of retiring to Sussex County, Delaware.

“For example, a $1.2 million dollar home in Bethesda, Md. costs a property owner approximately $12,000 in property taxes per year. That same house in the Rehoboth or Lewes area would cost the tax payer only $2000 per year under current tax rates. For people who are starting to think about budgeting for retirement, these figures are real eye-openers.”

Tom McGlone of the McGlone Lusco Financial Advisory Group of Lewes, will also be present at the workshop as a guest speaker on financial matters related to retirement and relocation to the beach.

The goal of the workshops is to convey to interested citizens the significant financial advantage of calling Sussex County home in retirement and to provide attendees the opportunity to have their questions answered about the financial advantages by an experienced financial advisor. Lee Ann will also speak to the tremendous quality of life that Sussex County has to offer retirees.

The first of these workshops will be held Wednesday April 29th at 6 PM in Rockville, Md and the second on Wednesday May 13th at 6 PM in Potomac, Maryland. Anyone planning to attend either of these workshops, should RSVP to the Lee Ann Wilkinson Group at 302-645-6664 or 888-770-6664.
